Motherâs Day means something different to everyone. Itâs a time to celebrate the special role models in our lives- whoever they may be! Whether itâs a mum, grandmother, aunt, sister, teacher, or friend, these caregivers and mentors help shape the little artists we love.
Thatâs why we created this joyful, hands-on activity: the Honeysticks DIY Bouquet Craft. Itâs a beautiful blend of creativity and appreciation, perfect for kids to gift to anyone who inspires them most.
đź What You'll Need:
-
Honeysticks crayons (made from 100% pure New Zealand beeswax!)
-
White drawing paper
-
Coloured paper (for the flowerpot)
-
Scissors (kid-safe)
-
Glue stickÂ
-
Real flower heads (fresh or pressed)
-
Optional: a plate or bowl to hold the flowers
⨠Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Draw the Stems
Use green Honeysticks crayons to draw tall flower stems rising from the center of your page. Add a few leafy shapes to fill it out.
2. Make the Flowerpot
Cut out a colourful flowerpot shape from a sheet of paper. Let little ones decorate it however they likeâsquiggles, stripes, heartsâanything goes!
3. Assemble the Pot
Glue or tape the pot over the base of the stems, adding a top rim with an extra paper strip for a 3D effect.
4. Add Real Flowers
Now the magic: glue real flower heads onto the paper bouquet. It brings the whole creation to life and smells lovely too!Â
5. Personalise It
Encourage your child to write a message like âHappy Motherâs Day,â âThank you Mum,â or even just a heart and their name. This makes it truly personal for the person they admire most.
đĄ Grown-Up Tips:
-
Fold the paper before starting to turn it into a greeting card.
-
Use dried or pressed flowers for a longer-lasting bouquet.
-
Talk about the different role models in your childâs life while creating!
This isnât just a craftâitâs a keepsake from the heart. So, whether your child is gifting it to Mum, Nana, a family friend, or a favourite teacher, this Honeysticks DIY Bouquet is a lovely way to say âthank you for helping me grow.â đąđ
